HVOF is a process utilizing supersonic fuel exhaust gases to accelerate coating particles up to several times the speed of sound. The impact created at this velocity impregnates the base metal with bond strengths of 12K to 15K psi. HVOF does not rely on heat fusion, therefore there is no distortion of base metal or thermal stresses. HVOF coatings can be applied to pump casings, impellers, stuffing boxes, etc.
